Ongoing objective analysis, location observations, tunnel entrance, cleared land, and recording inconsistencies.
In the interest of complete transparency and honesty, I must note several inconsistencies between what was recorded and what would be expected in the physical environment:
1. Unexplained sounds:
However, no other residents in the area reported hearing these gunshots.
Given the loud nature of such weapons, the recording requires explanation.
2. Physically impossible vehicle movement:
Initially, I considered this might be from the bus station across the road (38 meters away).
After observing and recording buses reversing at that station, I confirmed the sound does not match.
Furthermore, there is no location nearby where a lorry could reverse for the distance implied by the length of the recording.
3. Inconsistent background noise:
However, recordings made approximately six months later show significant background noise.
This change in acoustic environment occurred without any apparent changes to the property or immediate surroundings.
4. The sound of a train:
These inconsistencies puzzle me as much as the disturbing content itself.
In my opinion:
A recording was played near my recorder to mask other sounds.
For my theory to hold true, the noises must have been recorded somewhere close to a train line, where lorries reverse over an extended period.
The location would also have to offer an explanation for the weapons that were heard firing.
The nearest place that I could find that could potentially fit, was the industrial estate area near Ezzy store on the outskirts of Llandybie.
Close to Cilyrychen Quarry in Llandybie.
